Mexican Embassy in Beijing Meets With CODA Secretary General Hu Weiping

On 1 September 2015, the Mexican Ambassador to China Julián Ventura Valero led a delegation to meet CODA Secretary General Hu Weiping. Present at the meeting was the Economic Cooperation and Commerce Counselor of the Embassy, Prime Secretary of Pro Mexico and the CODA International Cooperation Division Chief.

The meeting began with the Ambassador’s opening remarks on the developments in Sino-Mexican economic cooperation, where he spoke of the participation of Chinese enterprises in a series of infrastructure projects in Mexico. Trade ties have intensified between the two countries in recent years, and China is now Mexico’s second largest economic partner and third largest trading partner. Mr. Julián Ventura Valero anticipates that CODA can help to promote inter-enterprise and inter-governmental communication and exchanges between the two countries.

Secretary General Hu Weiping expressed his support to the Ambassador’s proposal, and pledged to lend CODA’s assistance in promoting cooperation between Chinese and Mexican enterprises wherever possible.

The two sides then agreed to discuss how to proceed with the “China-Latin-America Enterprise Summit” proposed by the Ambassador.
